Title sponsor for Redhawk baseball WebCasts is Southeast Missouri Hospital. Internet access at Capaha Park is provided through a special arrangement with Big River Telephone.
“We’re proud to put the beauty of Capaha Park and the excitement of Southeast Redhawk Baseball on a global stage,” said Paul Keener, Director of Marketing for KFVS12. “We give lots of the credit to Southeast Missouri Hospital and Big River Telephone for helping to make this possible.”
The KFVS12.com WebCast will partner with Mississippi River Radio station KGIR and will feature the voices of Sports Director Erik Sean along with analysis from Jess Bolen. Their play by play will be available on KGIR and the WebCast simultaneously. This is the second time KFVS12 and River Radio have worked together on the WebCast. River Radio announcers were also used during Southeast Redhawk basketball presentations. All Redhawk baseball games, both home and away, are scheduled to be on KGIR.
“Erik is one of the premiere radio sports broadcasters in our viewing area and we’re thrilled to partner with him for Redhawk baseball,” said Keener. “More local content to more people more often should be the goal of local media. If we can work together to make that happen then we’re all for it. We think the combination will make for exciting WebCasts.”
Since the KFVS12.com WebCast premiered in the fall of 2007, the free on-line video presentation has featured more than 100 regional events including local high school and college football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, and gymnastic events, along with softball, parades, and local ceremonies.
Erik Sean is the multiple award winning radio sports voice for Southeast Redhawk basketball and baseball, along with Plaza Tire Capaha baseball and Jackson high school football. He serves as the Director of Sports Operations for Mississippi River Radio.
Jess Bolen has managed the Plaza Tire Capaha amateur baseball team for 42 years and was recently inducted into the National Baseball Congress Hall of Fame.
“This is a great chance for out of town fans, friends, family, and alumni to see events that they never would before,” added Keener. “And we think the players, coaches, and parents will enjoy watching on-demand when it’s convenient for them.”
In an exclusive arrangement with Raycom Media, Inc., parent company of KFVS12, the station will stream full coverage, multi-camera events live at www.kfvs12.com. The content will also be archived for on-demand viewing following the end of event coverage. All WebCast content will be available free of charge.
KFVS12 is the CBS Network affiliate serving the Cape Girardeau, Paducah, Harrisburg television market, and is a free broadcast service of Raycom Media, Inc. KFVS12 also operates The Heartland’s CW (WQWQ-TV), KFVS12.com, and The StormTeam Weather Network.
